About Stephen Cohen

Born in Johannesburg, Stephen attended King Edward VII School (KES) before graduating from the University of the Witwatersrand and Wits Business School. Early in his career, he founded a highly successful overseas magazine subscription agency—well ahead of its time and long before Google—demonstrating his entrepreneurial vision and global outlook. He later acquired the first AIDA franchise, which he owned and managed successfully for more than 20 years. During this period, Stephen was personally mentored by Aida Geffen, a pioneer of the South African real estate industry, who played a pivotal role in his professional development. After selling his franchise, Stephen went on to manage two large estate agencies, where he recruited, trained, and mentored agents who later built highly successful property careers. With over 40 years of experience in the property industry, he brings exceptional depth of knowledge and insight to every transaction. After semi-grating to Cape Town, Stephen joined Dogon Group Properties for a decade. Working under founder Denise Dogon, he frequently sold the same homes multiple times—an achievement that reflects his long-standing client relationships and deep understanding of the Atlantic Seaboard market. Well-connected within the local community and widely respected across the industry, Stephen offers clients access to a strong local and international network.
